In 1912 the Olympic Games were held in Stockholm, Sweden. Here are some of the articles in the American press about the exhibition baseball games that were played. Note that the first two stories seem to have come from the same wire service, but were modified by the local editors. I find it culturally interesting that H.P. Drew, the sprinter from Springfield, Mass., was referred to as 'colored' by
The Washington (D.C.)
Times and as a 'negro' by
The Tacoma Times.
